01.30.06 Craig Ferguson's
Father Passed Away Dr Drew Amy Yasbeck
Transcript (excerpts)
Craig: Welcome to
Hollywood, California. Welcome to "the late late show."
I'm your host TV's Craig Ferguson. It's going to be a
different show tonight. My father Robert Ferguson died
on Sunday. And I was in Scotland last week and I said
goodbye. So tonight, it may not be a accomplished piece
of television that you're going to see. And I don't
care. And if I get weepy, I don't want any slow cameras
zooming in and things like that. You don't need to
manufacture the drama, my heart's broken, my father's
dead. I pride myself on coming out here and being
honest. .....He worked in the post office in
Scotland for 44 years. He started as a telegram boy,
delivering telegrams on Norton x army bikes where you
change the gear by taking your hands off the handlebar
and it's called a suicide shift. They were too pour to
emulate Marlon Brando in the white scarf's. I have lived
in America for years and i have never seen anybody
wearing one. By the time my dad retired, he had about
600 men working for him in the post office.
