Redwood City Woman Dies From Fire Injuries
(BCN) SANTA CLARA A Redwood City woman who was pulled
from a burning apartment Friday by four civilians died
Sunday, according to the Santa Clara County Medical
Examiner.
Pamela Drummer, 50, passed away Sunday at Santa Clara
Valley Medical Center after suffering second-degree
burns to 60 percent of her body, including her face,
chest, arms and legs.
Drummer was rescued from a single-story three-unit
apartment building at 1193 King St. after a two-alarm
fire broke out at about 1:45 p.m., according to Redwood
City Fire Department Battalion Chief Steve Cavallero.
When firefighters arrived at the building they found the
four men, Redwood City residents Alberto Hernandez and
Mike Nunez, along with San Mateo resident Fred Babcock
and Menlo Park resident Jess Coronel, at the front
entrance of the unit pulling Drummer from the burning
building, Cavallero said.
Together with police and fire units, the men moved
Drummer onto the lawn of a neighboring house, and fire
paramedics began treating her.
Cavallero said investigators have not yet determined a
cause of the fire, which caused an estimated $100,000
worth of damage.
